Although with the Living Stones Plan for the Diocese of Ogdensburg there is no change in parish structure for the Catholic Community of Morristown, Hammond and Rossie, there will be an adjustment in Sunday mass coverage so as to accommodate the expected linkage under one pastor of the Catholic Community of Alexandria with St. Mary's Church in Clayton and St. John the Evangelist Church in Lafargeville. Currently, the Sunday mass schedule for the Catholic Community of Morristown, Hammond and Rossie is as follows:
St. John the Evangelist, Morristown (ant) 5:30 pm
St. Patrick's, Rossie, 8:00 am
St. Peter's, Hammond, 9:30 am
St. John the Evangelist, Morristown 11:00 am
When the linkage of Alexandria Bay/Redwood with Clayton/LaFargeville takes place, the Sunday mass schedule will be adjusted from Memorial Day to Columbus Day as follows:
St. John the Evangelist, Morristown (ant) 5:30 pm
*St. Francis Xavier, Redwood 8:00 am
St. Peter's, Hammond, 9:30 am
St. John the Evangelist, Morristown 11:00 am
For the remainder of the year outside the summer months, the following Sunday mass schedule will be in effect:
St. John the Evangelist, Morristown (ant) 5:30 pm
St. Peter's, Hammond, 9:00 am
St. John the Evangelist, Morristown 11:00 am
*The church in Redwood will remain the responsibility of the pastor of the Catholic Community of Alexandria. Because of the demands of the summer crowd, the pastor of the Catholic Community of Morristown, Hammond and Rossie simply will be assisting him for the summer months. At this point, this mass schedule change is not expected to take place in 2017, but will take effect whenever there is a retirement in Clayton or in Alexandria Bay. Until there is a retirement, the current schedule will remain in effect.
